Do I need a pre-trial before my wedding?

I highly recommend a consultation/trial for both hair and makeup prior to your wedding day is when we can discuss all your ideas and look at images. It is important that we work together creating a look that will compliment your wedding style and enhance your natural beauty. Whether you decide on a soft natural romantic look or a dramatic modern look (even something in between) This gives you the opportunity to see the finished result and make sure you are 100% happy before your big day.

How long will my pre-trial last?

I usually allow 2 hours for a hair and makeup trial, however there is no real time limit as I see this is as an important process in finalising your look.

When should I have my pre-trial?

I recommend a pre-trial 2-3 months before your wedding day. The month before your wedding is often a busy time, having your hair and makeup already confirmed means one less thing to worry about. I also suggest having a pre-trial on the day of a dress fitting so you can see everything together. Alternatively you may choose to have your pre-trial on a special evening making the most of your hair and makeup

What products do you use as a hair and makeup artist?

I use a wide range of my favourite products. This is based on years of experience as some products work better on different skin types. Some of my preferred brands are; Dior, Bobbi Brown, Makeup Forever, MAC, Smashbox, and Benefit. I also use a technique of makeup called airbrushing. My preferred airbrush makeup brands are KETT, Dinair and Airbase I prefer to use salon-only hair products including; Matrix and Redken. This ensures your hairstyle lasts as long as your makeup does.

Do you provide a touch up kit?

Yes. For every makeup I do, I will give you a free gift bag containing a selection of products for you to touch-up throughout your special day/evening. This will include blotting tissues to eliminate shine (especially useful in hot/humid conditions like a NZ summer) A sample of your lipstick or gloss, some extra hair pins and some cotton buds.

How far in advance do I need to book?

I recommend as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. Certain dates are snapped up very quickly, so once you have a date in mind, contact me asap to secure the date. For weddings, I take a 10% deposit to hold the day. Please understand that some of my brides have booked up to 18 months in advance for my services. I also have a team of trained artists that work along-side me who I can recommend.

What can I do to prepare for my hair and make-up booking?

I ask that you please wash your hair the night before your booking and please ensure your hair is 100% dry containing no products when you arrive. Please cleanse your face of all makeup residue and moisturise. If you use a moisturiser, please ensure it is NO higher than SPF15 as higher SPF products can affect photographs. We will discuss ideas during the pre-trial, however if you bring with you a picture of the type of hair or make-up look that you would like is often helpful.

Do you have a travel fee?

Travel within the Auckland area is included in the price. Travel outside of the Auckland area will incur a small fee to cover petrol and travelling time. Travel to Waiheke Island is $100 per artist. This includes ferry, city parking and travel time. You will also need to arrange transport from the ferry terminal
